Architecture is a responsible Art
Architecture should reflect its place accounting for climate, sun, wind and temperature and most of all the client’s vision. This straw bale home produces enough electricity to meet its annual needs and is heated by passive solar energy. A central cast-earth thermal mass wall balances the interior temperatures, warming and cooling the home. The attached passive solar greenhouse provides vegetables and herbs year around without backup heat. 2005 Recipient of Award of Honor —West Chapter of Colorado AIA and Exemplary Building Award - Colorado Renewable Energy Society.
